STYLE PWR || Andria Bush, Celebrity Stylist
In my work, I've gotten to meet some incredible women who not only create gorgeous moments for clients; they dress themselves superbly and uniquely. With STYLE PWR, I will be showcasing creatives who approach style in inspiring or interesting ways. These are the ones I look to for a fresh take on fashion when I need to get out of my own style box.
First up, meet Andria Bush. She is a VIP stylist who dresses celebrities for anything from on-camera appearances to red carpet events. I've been a fan of her style since we met, frequently stalking her Instagram (@easthartzwest) for style inspo . Everything she puts together is chic yet cool, elevated yet playful and I am hereee for it. Andria was kind enough to allow Jon (hubby) and I into her lovely pad and onto her breathtaking roof so we could talk about her eclectic and enviable wardrobe, her approach to style, and who exactly her fashion icons are.
How would you describe your style?
Elevated layered model off duty but def not a model and I would sell my soul for a denim jacket...
Who has inspired your style?
I love love love the 70s. Bianca Jagger is my ultimate. I'd rather wear a tuxedo before a gown any day.
What pieces have remained time-tested staples in your wardrobe?
Denim. All of my denim I will never give, sell, or trade! I'm pretty generous and I won't even let my best friends borrow!
As a stylist, you have front row access to designers. How does seeing the most current looks off the runway inform or affect your style?
It literally makes me want to continue to evolve my style every day but it's also dangerous... so I try to keep up with all the sample sales!
Where do you go for style ideas?
I love to see what Olivia Palermo is doing and Lisa Hahnbück, both women have an amazing sense of fashion. But Carries Bradshaw/Patricia Field was a genius... that is my ultimate style icon!
Recent purchase you're most excited about?
I just bought a Gucci fanny pack! SATC Season 4 inspired me to make it happen!
What is your favorite store in Manhattan?
I'd have to say Zara because I get all my basics there and they look so chic.
If you could only live in the clothes of one designer, it would be...
Chanel! Hands down, that is it!
What is your favorite spot in NYC to get dressed up for?
I'm such a dive bar girl! It's a contradiction because I love beautiful clothes and getting beautiful women dressed in them but my idea of "dressed up" is an ACDC t-shirt and a Dsquared2 pantsuit.
Vintage or that new new?
New new. But I like new that feels like vintage.
Minimalism or maximalist?
I love to layer. When I was little Mom used to beg me to take one thing off and I would break down and cry. I still to this day overdo it with the layers!
Us too, Andria, us too. Big thank you to Andria for letting us peek into her fabulous mind for a minute! We couldn't have had a more fun afternoon shooting this style master. And, um, can we talk about how much of a NATURAL she is in front of the camera?? The photos featured here are only a small sampling of the gold we got. She made it veryyy difficult for us to edit them down - there were so many strong ones to choose from - because she is SLAYING in every shot. Keep up with this star and you may just see her magical take on style during awards season (actually, you definitely will).
