Pajama Evening || Floral Jumpsuit
One of my favorite trends in recent seasons has been pajamas as ready-to-wear. I love the languid lines of silken tops and pants, the relaxed shapes that hint at your figure without overtly outlining it. The pajama trend is up there with athleisure as a saving grace to fashion mavens everywhere who want their look to be socially acceptable but also just kind of want to never take off their jammies...? I hear you, designers have heard you, and now we have silk pieces so slouchy, you could roll out of bed and head straight to the supper club, no problem.
This Amur floral jumpsuit is just that: a piece the felt so effortless on, I forgot what a statement it actually is. Head-to-toe print is something I'm still getting used to (even as a stylist, I'm always trying to get out of my comfort zone!) but the breezy, wide leg pants made me feel like myself. This is modern evening wear. A peplum adds structure to the bodice while also flowing away from the midsection, a style detail that is perfect for anyone who prefers to not highlight their stomach. Off the shoulder flounces and a sweetheart neckline make this piece a little seductive too, the perfect combination of romantic and sexy for an after-hours event. I paired a metal minaudiere that has a Victorian inspired closure with this look to really amp up the romance. Next time you're on the hunt for an evening look, steer clear of the tiny and tight cocktail section and stroll instead through the sleepwear. It may be your most comfortable (i.e. wonderful) evening out ever.
Amur Elizabeth Jumpsuit sold here. (Metal clutch is Free People from years ago but I can't find anything similar to it online. Curses!)
