Kelly Green Please || Your New Favorite Shade

In December of 2016, the Pantone color of the year for 2017 was announced: Greenery, a yellow-green shade that evokes nature and the lushness of spring. While, in the past year, literal greenery has certainly reached peak exposure with the skyrocketing prominence of plants in all forms of decoration - from house plants to the now ubiquitous palm leaf print - I have found that Greenery the color has not taken off quite as much.

Instead, on the runways and presentation platforms of September's fashion week, Kelly green was front and center. The bright, blue-based green was almost treated as a neutral, it was paired with every print and color imaginable. I, for one, am fully on board the Kelly green train and, inspired by what I saw at NYFW, have been incorporating the shade in styling my clients. Kelly green sheath dresses look red carpet chic with rose gold pumps and Kelly green bags stand out against lavender coats.

Here, I put together an office appropriate look with a cropped Kelly green sweater from Milly and a micro houndstooth printed pant by Nicholas. I love how the deep green pops next to the graphic black and white print and how the color elevates this look from purely professional to creative and expressive of personal style. Don't miss the structural details in the hem of the pant either. I always look for cool moments like this in a garment that take a piece from ordinary to special and unique. How would you wear Kelly green?
